Total Eclipse Dec 2011 & How It May Heal Your Past

Lunar Eclipse

A Lunar Eclipse

Tonight, Sydney time, at 1:32 am (2:32 pm UT), there will be a Total Lunar Eclipse in our heavens. This is a special time of Light and of Darkness.

The Earth’s shadow will prevent the Sun’s rays from reaching the surface of the Moon (for a semiduration of 26 minutes), as the Moon will be completely engulfed within the tail of the Earth’s magnetic field.

The Eclipse, therefore, brings an added challenge to us. Those of us in darkness at this time will be deprived, albeit for a brief time, of the reflection of the Sun’s stimulating brilliance; and the Moon, though ghostly in appearance, will be naked in its power.

Astrologically, the Moon stimulates our conditioned reactions to past memory, those memories that shape our life and attitudes. And presently the Moon is in Gemini, as we say, reflecting to us a more aware focus via our surface consciousness, as well as the need for communication with others close to us, and being more open to things that may have inhibited us in the past.

In terms of human behaviour, Gemini is the least judgemental sign in the zodiac wheel, but also the most irresponsible. Responsibility requires a certain amount of judgement, and personal values. Every frequency of the zodiac has a plus and a minus in its expression, as this is how we view dualistic reality. Our consciousness may be briefly eclipsed tonight if we are not mindful!

The Sun stimulates our Heart-Mind, our inherent Spiritual Wisdom and capacity for Compassion. And it is presently emphasising for us the Sagittarius frequency, which itself stimulates Wisdom, Truth, Harmlessness, and deeper Introspection into the workings of the universe.

A Full Moon always provides a polarity of energy with the Sun. This Gemini-Sagittarius combination can lead to greater Wisdom and Insight if we use it wisely. It can be highly productive for inspirational ideas that we can develop for the benefit of our society and culture.

When we see the full face of the Moon, that is a complete reflecton of the Sun’s Light on the Moon’s surface, there is an added dimension of consciousness there. Perhaps, this is why it can be more difficut to fall asleep, or even to want to, during the full moon phase (apart from the obvious effect that the strong moonlight may have on the pineal gland, regulating sleep): the Sun’s Light is making conscious the patterns of the Past.

Many people try to avoid this fresh Light by indulging in intoxicating liquids (the moon resonates with all watery fluids) or recreational drugs. While many spiritual traditions employ special meditation rituals during Full Moon days, as this time can lead to higher consciousness through self-understanding.

As the eclipsed moon emerges from the shadow of the Earth, it begins to resemble a Crescent Moon. In Chinese Taoist Alchemy, the Crescent Moon is a symbol of "the emergence of the ‘light’ of the primal mind from the ‘shadow’ of aquired conditioning"1. This ‘aquired conditoning’ is exactly what the Moon stimulates in us astrologically.

The timing of this eclipse tonight is very interesting:

  • The Sun (our Heart-Mind) is very close to the Transneptunian Point, Cupido, at this time. This invisible force stimulates Compassion & Peace/or anger-hatred if ignored.
  • Cupido, itself, is squaring Ceres, asteroid of family, grief, grains that nourish—churning up family issues, or stagnant grief. All grief is a form of attachment, which is why it generates anger.
  • And the Sun and eclipsed Moon are both squaring Astraea, the asteroid of karmic balance, which can lead us to feel the urgency of repaying a prior kindness (no matter how ancient), or resolving a past state of our ignorance, even when this seems to involve a stranger.
  • The Transneptunian Point, Zeus, is trining the Gemini South Node, bringing the urgency for Wisdom to prevail over the Past. This can be a very healing time to clear the staleness of our Past before the New Year!

For those of us in the Asia-Pacific region, the Earth’s shadow will cover the Moon tonight, and we will be put on alert to not fall into the darkness of loss of Heart as the Sun will not be shining it’s Light onto our Past Memories, the Moon; & we may make the mistake of repeating the Past, instead of gaining wisdom from it.

Mindfulness is paramount. The Lunar Eclipse lasts for only a brief time, but it only takes one brief moment to make a decision, or take an impulsive action, that may affect the rest of your life, happily or sadly.

No matter what time-zone your location, use this day wisely. Let go of the things that no longer support your Path. Sit, meditate, contemplate, and be open to a new vision that will support your New Year ahead!

Can Human Research Trials Be Accurate Without Astrology?

Science, in its drive for an understanding of life and human potential (and for research grants), normally engages in statistical explorations where a group of human beings is subject to a particular event or substance, and is then analysed against a control group of unaffected human beings (representing “the Norm”).

Data is gathered on the differences between these two groups. This is correlated as a pile of percentages; and proclamations are often made as to the effects from the events or substances on human behaviour or psychology.

There is something dramatically amiss with this style of research. Something that Modern Medicine has also never taken into consideration.

The Western approach to physical, emotional, and mental health is to focus on external paraphernalia (viruses; occasionally environment), or minute bits of the human body (neurons, chemicals in the brain, etc.). And through this fascination with anything other than “humanness”, the point has been completely missed that every human being on this planet is unique in his or her physical and psychological matrix… and that these differences can be distinguished.

It is not enough to say that the human brain produces such and such chemical substances, or that a human ought to have two eyes and one nose. The differencres in how we each react to substances or external events will vary dramatically across all trials, and even on different dates.

The science of astrology has taught me to respect the magnificent differences in the way in which the human mind creates its body. Without elaborating on the theories of quantum physics and reiterating what the ancients of Asia had been expounding through their systems of healing, regarding matter as energy and consiousness (I will leave that for a forthcoming book), I will relate here directly the evidence of astrology.

The human system is composed of five elements (which vary only slightly in the Chinese, Japanese, Tibetan, and Indian Ayurvedic systems) in a unique balance. And this balance changes subtly from day to day. These are not the same as the Western phenomenal elements, but are more subtle, yet ultimately impact upon the physical body:

  • Fire is our kinetic energy, motivated by our spirit, our higher mind. It is the ignition of the life-force into action.
  • Air is the substance that allows energy to move through the body and the brain, and connects us with our environment.
  • Water sustains life by carrying specific frequencies of energy throughout the body (as nutrients or emotions).
  • Earth allows us to hold energies as the body itself. It creates what we perceive as solid matter (including bones and teeth).
  • There is also a Wood element in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which is the living growth of the being.
  • Metal replaces Air in TCM, as the gathering force.
  • And Ayurveda acknowledges the Ether as the highest spiritual energy we possess (Ayurveda’s 5th element).

These are only quaintly brief introductions to these five elements, but the point to grasp here is that these subtle elements impact upon all levels of our being: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

“…The general population in China, and its medical practitioners, when asked ‘Why is there disharmony?’ speak of three categories of precipitating factors in illness. These are environment, emotional outlook, and way of life.” – Ted J. Kaptchuk O.M.D. The Web That Has No Weaver: Understanding Chinese Medicine1

All of these elements, and their relationships to each other, can be read in the astrological chart of any human mind (or that of any animal, if an accurate birth time has been recorded). The elements (both mixed and pure) are found not only in the signs but also in the houses of the various planets in the chart as varying frequencies; with each planet, itself, stimulating a certain element.

For example, an individual with a predominance of Water and Earth qualities in his her birth chart will have a slower digestion than another individual with a predominance of Fire and Air. The former will usually struggle with keeping her weight down to a healthy level, as her body will physically hold more water within its Earth element; and her bones may be heavier and denser than other elemental types. She will also hang on to many of the things or people in her life as emotional security; and a connection with the past is important to her.

The Fiery-Airy person will often be thinner, with lighter and finer bones, not hanging on to much in life, and seeking change and stimulation, rather than emotional security and stagnation. Also, a predominance of the Air element can cause one to be supersensitive to brain-altering drugs. Even the temperature, and humidity or dryness in the air of a research room, can affect the mental and emotional responses from an Air-type person, as opposed to a Water-type. (This is also strongly evident with kinesiology2 testing.)

Yet, the elements are only one small part of an astrology chart. Each individual expresses a unique moment in time from the beginning of his or her life, when the earth’s field had been humming a symphony of sounds, stimulated by the movements in the heavens. And each moment in time is absolutely unique. Every planet and asteroid in our solar system produces a unique tonal frequency that affects the brain which then creates the body from the template of the mind).

Birth is therefore a resonance, between our mindstream’s frequencies of thought and the frequencies above. There are no coincidences in astrology. Birth is always perfect timing, no matter the circumstances of the birth. And each moment, as each person, is unique.

The other vast difference that can occur between research subjects is a little more metaphysical. This involves the process of Reincarnation. My own research has shown that the mindstream flows from body to body, from one life to the next. We create our new form based on the ideas we had previously gathered in the mindstream, just as we create and recreate our physical form throughout life, dependent upon our attitudes and varying emotional conditions as we respond to the ongoing frequencies in the earth’s field.

Fatigue Study of the brain

Brain Study of Fatigue in Pilots

However, we have not all had the same number of human lifetimes, and we have not all gathered and assimilated the same past experiences. These differences alone can result in widely varying reactions of body and mind to any form of stimulus. Some individuals can be provoked to murder by an insult; other subjects will make a joke of the insult, taking it lightly and even buying the perpetrator a beer!

These differences occur not simply due to childhood conditioning (which has never proven anything substantially—many indivuals have risen above a challenging childhood), but to spiritual maturity that can only be developed over time as we learn to live with the cosmic influences and with each other. This takes a very long time! Especially the cities of the world are made up of vast differences in “soul age” (mindstream accumulation) of the individuals cohabiting in these huge communities.

And all this is not to mention the unique past-life associations we each have with a variety of substances and scenarios that can trigger deep and unique responses within the body and the mind!

So what is a human control group? It is a collection of vastly different people of varying elemental constitutions, widely varying beliefs, and hugely varying levels of tolerance to situations and substances!

Obesity Rates in Canadian Population

So can the statistics (averages) from human trials ever be truly scientific?

I think not.

At least while astrology is not being used as a benchmark for each individual’s likely responses, we cannot begin to ascertain the disparity we are likely to find between each of the subjects of both the control group and the testing group, before any trials even begin!

All of the information listed above can now be gleaned from an accurate astrology chart. And I look forward to a future (possibly after Pluto moves into Aquarius in 2023) when astrology will be utilised in all scientific studies to narrow the margin of error that is occurring now in research institutions around the world.

Astrology is the most marvellous “Rosetta stone” that humanity has ever stumbled upon. And it is a work in progress, as we develop and mature as human and spiritual beings.

Is Science Missing the Details?

Sydney Harbour Bridge at sunset

I have just now been watching an elaborate and spectacular science documentary DVD on the nature of the Universe. I can’t show you the image here, but there was an ENORMOUS full moon (obviously, graphically superimposed on the scene) gradually sinking behind the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House at dusk, and moving diagonally towards the north as it closed in on the western horizon… ??? What is wrong with this scene?

This documentary is about science and cosmology. And yet, firstly, the science advisors for the program had missed the subtle point that everything in Australia sets slowly towards the south, not the north!, as it sinks below the western horizon (the opposite of what occurs in the northern hemisphere—yes, this is a northern-hemisphere-made documentary).

And ALSO!: The point must be made that it is actually IMPOSSIBLE to view a full moon setting at SUNSET!

By definition, a full moon occurs when the sun and moon are directly opposite each other, from our point of reference, and we can see the entirety of the moon’s surface that is reflecting the sun’s light. We can only see a full moon setting in the west as the sun is rising in the east! Or vice-versa. When a full moon is virtually above us, the sun is below us (night-time). You will never see a completely full moon at midday!

At least they got the moon the right end up for Sydney!…

Left: Full moon as seen from Australia; Right: Full moon as seen from USA

If the light source (the sun) was behind the moon (the sun being a lot further away!), the side of the moon we’d see would be in shadow, darkness (the ‘new moon’, as we’ve named it—and when the Sun, Moon, and Earth, in that order, are prefectly aligned we have a solar eclipse!).

… Many years ago, I once asked a professional astronomer (after he sighed with indignation at having been approached by a mere astrologer!) if the Earth revolved around the sun in an anti-clockwise direction, as viewed from from the north… He had no idea! … (Yes, it does, by the way.)

Are we focusing too much on the broader picture, and not on the finer details?… Research and Excellence are always in the details.

Reflections…Another World

dusk at Angels Beach over the oceanLast year, 2010, I was living only a stroll from a long, glorious, natural beach on Australia’s eastern seaboard. Always a surprising delight. Every dusk the colours were so fabulous! Exquisitely striped expanse of sky in aqua and salmon-pink, reflected in the flat silky-wet sand. And the almost-metallic blue and pink colours of the water, with aqua-green wave-tops! Just magic.

One Thursday evening, I witnessed a huge red full moon sliding upwards—seeming to defy gravity—as it emerged from the ocean’s horizon. I could not avert my eyes as I stood mesmerised with the swirling surf at my knees, my clothes half-drenched. There, alone, in the warm semi-darkess, I was filled with a child-like, blissful joy.

… Another day’s treasure had been a huge purple jellyfish, washed up with the tide. Dead, poor thing, but beautiful and also eery as it hugged the wet sand. I had never seen one like this before. Odd white antenna-looking ‘fingers’ poking out above the deep-purple bell which curved down to the rippled edges of the base, resembling the pies my mother used to bake! … The ocean cradles another world in its depths.

We would get the odd long-traveled coconut washed up on the strand, and deserts of pink coral at low tide. But I had also been blessed with a number of opportunities to save the lives of other-world creatures.

Two small stingray fish, both suffocating as they struggled in their strange out-of-water environment, had appeared on the beach, a week apart. The first time, a group of passers-by had merely stopped to observe the half-dead creature and walked on. I could see its desperation, violently drawing in empty breaths of non-existant sea water through its round topside gills. Could feel its fear, anxiety and bewliderment. I managed to slide it down to the strand, and got it back to safety with the next wave. I was so happy to see it gliding elegantly into the foamy depths. The second one was updside-down in the wet sand, yet not dead. After a brief encounter, I was able to reintroduce it to the ocean.

All sentient life is precious. All creatures struggle to survive when in danger, no matter how tiny they seem to us. Their lives, to them, are precious.

antinflowerGenuine compassion can only be developed when we let go of our focus on ‘self’ to identify with the life within other beings. Ants are busily going about their daily business when humans smash them into the ground, ending their personal endeavours for their community and home forever. And as for eating cows… something I can never comprehend!

I have witnessed a family of cows closely follow a distressed horse all around a large paddock when he was crying for his missing horse companions. The cows were concerned and very present for his deep distress. I have also seen another of the horses from the same paddock shield one of those cows from the intense summer sun when she was sick and could not stand on her feet to move to shelter. The horse stood perfectly still, right next to the cow, for 20 minutes, exactly shading her prostrate body and head. He neither ate the grass nor shifted his position, until the heat was too much for him as well, and he retired to the shelter of the trees, to his companions.

… I once coached a large cockroach into entering an empty jar I’d held up to him on the wall, so I could relocate him outside! He wasn’t sure at first, but finally committed to trusting me. Bugs and animals have extraordinary senses and are aware of our intent (and I believe they can smell the difference between a carnivore and a herbivore!). They are not stupid.

Birds, for example, have developed the limbic system of their brains way beyond our human capacities, while we focussed on the prefrontal cortex. Many birds rapidly grow extra neurons in their brains during spring to enhance their songs, then delete the circuits in later months of migration, to lighten their heads for flight, only to regrow the neurons again for the following spring.

And I won’t start on the intelligence and the love within domestic cats and dogs! Even tigers in captivity, when raised with love and respect, will respond in kind.

The major astrological transits we are all experiencing are affecting all life on this planet, not only the arrogant human race! All species are evolving and moving slowly toward full consciousness. Witness the compassion many species have for their young.

All beings are in essence Buddha-nature. All beings are interconnected via gravity, the one force that connects the entire universe as one, and maintains its harmony. To respect small creatures and even bugs is the way to begin respecting ourselves. Our world is full of life. And the oceans even more so!

frog-croppedNext time you meet a creature unlike yourself, no matter how tiny it may appear to your relative judgement, greet it it with love and kindness. In time you will find you have hard-wired your brain to believe in such qualities, and all of your relationships will then prosper with softness and love and real awareness. This is a path to happiness. Fear, aggression and dominance do not create joy.

If you have some happy creature stories, I would love to hear them. Please feel free to comment….Go lightly on the earth and protect those who cannot protect themselves … from us.

One more precious beach story before I leave you:
… Ah, and the Butterfly Day! I was able to rescue four magnificent blue butterflies who were drowning in the wet sand that had glued their wings. Silly things were playing with the waves, skimming the colours in the foam bubbles, not realising the danger beneath! Many drowned. Each time I found one alive I cradled it to the bushes where it would be safe from birds, poured my spring water gently over its wings to cleanse them from the heavy, wet sand, and very, very carefully separated the wings so they could dry out in the breeze.

After these four, I then walked down to the strand again to search for more survivors… But a very different miracle happened. A roaring, pelting noise, right in front of me. I looked up to see a bright yellow helicopter low over the waves. Its huge visual message could not have been more in my face. My eyes filled with tears as I read the words: “LIFE SAVER”.

Have You Ever Been an Angry Customer?

Kerrie-not happyI recently changed to a new carrier for my mobile broadband and mobile phone. Why? The last one, despite my pleas, was sending me bogus text messages at 2:20 in the morning!

And now? I’ve just had two serious simultaneous problems with the new telecommunications company immediately after buying a mobile phone from them and requesting to maintain my old phone number from my previous service. Not only did the latter not happen, but they deactivated my new broadband account as well! I was completely cut off from the world!

If I had not threatened legal action after they had offered to fix their own mishap in JUST 10 DAYS!!, I would have had no phone and no internet access for all that time, leaving me bereft of work, clients, and revenue.

So, who was it who had to suffer the hard edge of my dissatisfaction? The individual at the point of sale who was not diligent, not mindful, or possibly too proud to ask for help from other staff members? (One small error on his part made quite a dent in my life this week!)

… Or the unfortunate people at the overseas Call Centre who’d had nothing to do with the mishap in the first place?; and who were left to figure out what went wrong, with no actual tangible connection to my issue (especially as the actual staff members I had revisted the day before had feigned that all was well after not actually fixing anything at all!)

Congratulations to the young Indian woman thousands of miles away, who had the presence of mind to figure out the mysterious source of the problem, through probing and asking me all the right questions as she relayed each of her screen-findings to me, one at a time. Her diligence in being truly helpful solved at least the cause of the issue!

… Are our companies hiding behind these overseas Call Centres when the companies themselves stuff up? And are these overseas people being paid enough to be the punching-bags for our vexation?

Kerrie Blowing RaspberryAppearing Compassionate and Accepting to a large invisible company will usually not get your issue resolved. But neither will a wall of gunfire. We are certainly being tested on our Equanimity at these times. But this does not mean we have to accept bad policy and a wreckless disregard for our, the customers’, wellbeing. Without the customer there is no business, no business means no shareholders, and no shareholders means no money in the bank for the CEOs! Some businesses have to learn the hard way. I had absolutely REFUSED this telco’s call-centre staff-manager’s ridiculous 10-day plan, and in no uncertain terms! Though I did apologise to the first line of defence, the young Indian call-centre woman, for upsetting her day, acknowledging this was not her fault. But without my passion for SERVICE PLEASE! I would have gotten nowhere.

I had worked in retailing, and the service end of wholesaling, for many years during my youthful era, and there was no question then that the customer is always right. She has to be, if you want her ever-acculmulating return-custom, which is always worth a great deal more than the small loss of an apology in service or goods.

The impersonality of today’s larger companies and franchises will be their downfall. It is fine to offer jobs to people overseas who may have the technical skills to assist us 24/7 over the phone, but this should not mean the mother-company itself avoids responsibility for the actions of its on-ground home-employees. Building Customer Relationships is paramount now in this era of Pluto in Capricorn, and especially with Uranus exploding in Aries at present! Impersonal Companies are playing with fire.

… Now that everything is fixed for me (no thanks to the offending shop staff in Sydney), did I get a direct apology from the actual telco, especially as I am a new and potentially valuable customer? Nope. Not a word. Am I a happy customer? Nope. Will I support this company and give them more of my money? Not very likely. Will I recommend this company’s services and products to other people in my sphere of influence? Definitely not. They certainly don’t fly with me in my assessment!

The customer will not abide being ignored or swindled. And it would not have taken such a great effort for someone to phone me, to email me, or even text me, from a Sydney or Mebourne office, to apologise… I have yet to see if I will receive an official letter in the mail. I will leave a postscript here if I do! But let’s not hold our breaths in the meantime.

Am I the first person to blog about issues like this involving irresponsible businesses? Sadly, no. And it seems I will not be the last. Sometimes I wish I could throw a Seth Godin or Napoleon Hill book at these people! When will they ‘get it’?

Well, the good news is, if they don’t get it, with Pluto in Capricorn introducing us now to the era of ‘Ethics in Business’ (which started in January 2008: yes, the global economic downturn, which will last until 2024), they will simply not survive. Here’s to a new global era of cooperation and innovation when Pluto hits Aquarius 13 years from now… But let’s not hold our breaths, huh?

Who Is This Fat Little Buddha?

Pu-taiWhy do so many people imagine The Buddha as a squat, rather round, jovial fellow with a big tummy they feel compelled to rub? How can this be, as Buddha almost starved himself to death in the forest before his Enlightenment? He then lived as a wandering monk from offerings of food from devotees, and was never described as ‘fat’! So, how many Buddhas are there? And is this Jovial One really a Buddha?

The truth is, there have been countless Buddhas in our Universe. The historical man of India, Siddhartha Gautama, known as Shakyamuni Buddha, was but one of these. However, the Chinese rotund fellow we speak of as a Buddha is not strictly a Buddha … yet!

Long ago, during the Five Dynasties period of China (10th-century A.D.), there lived a happy Ch’an (Japanese: Zen) Buddhist monk from Fenghua, by the name of Ch’i-t’zu. He was said to be short and rather heavy in stature, and carried on his shoulder a large cloth sack, a ‘pu-tai’, which in later times came to be his common name. He was known as a great compassionate being who had a special affinity with teaching children, and is now recognised as a bodhisattva, an heroic awakened one who lives for the benefit of others. The Japanese people (who were introduced to Buddhism via China) know him as Hotei. His birthdate is unknown, but his death was recorded as AD 916 in Checkiang province in China.

MaitreyaIt is believed that Pu-tai was a previous incarnation of the next Buddha who is to be known as Maitreya. The name Maitreya is derived from the Sanskrit term ‘maitri’ (or ‘metta’ in Pali), which means ‘loving-kindness’.

Buddha Shakyamuni, the Buddha of our present Era, had taught principally Compassion (always accompanied by Wisdom), so Maitreya will teach Loving-Kindness. These are the two aspects of what we can clearly define as genuine ‘love’. Compassion is the unconditional act of relieving the suffering of others, while Loving-Kindness is the unconditional act of bringing happiness to others.

It has been prophesied that the Buddha-Dharma will disappear from this world, and will not be revived until Maitreya Buddha appears, 1,000 years from now, to spread the Dharma Teachings once again. Below is an excerpt from Shakyamuni Buddha’s pronouncement regarding Maitreya:

“Hearken Single-mindedly!
In radiant great samadhi,
The one with unsurpassed virtue
Will rightfully appear in the world.
That one will pronounce the wondrous Dharma,
And all will be infused with it,
Like the thirsty drinking the sweet nectar.
All will swiftly set off on the Liberation Path.”

  — from ‘The Sutra of Maitreya Bodhisattva’s Attainment of Buddhahood’ *

Tibetan depictions of Maitreya often show him sitting Western-style on a thrown (with legs down and feet on the ground, rather than folded in Lotus-position). And He is conveyed with blue eyes, suggesting a Caucasian rather than Asian origin.

The reason Maitreya is deified for us now (whether on the throne or as in his previous incarnation as a monk) is so that we may build a relationship with him at this time, at least within our subtle mind. As everything that goes into our mindstream stays with us forever, this connection we make now will also be present 1,000 years in our future, when He returns. We will be inexplicably (to us) drawn to Him and the Teachings He will provide. This will ensure the return of the Dharma, and may bring peace to a troubled world.

Steven Seagal as LamaThe surprise over the official recognition of Hollywood action star, Steven Seagal, as a 17th-century High Tibetan Lama can also be explained in this way.

Seagal’s movies are usually violent and aggressive in nature, and appeal as role model material to individuals who have not mastered their own aggressive nature, who have not found a path to peace, and who may not be capable of such a path at this time.

However, when Seagal reappears as a Tibetan Lama in his next or future incarnations, these ‘lost souls’ will unconsciously ‘recognise’ him, placing him in high esteem, and will be drawn to his teachings of the Dharma. Also, as he is a practising Lama right now, having turned his Brentwood (Hollywood) home into a Tibetan monastery, he may even influence some of his present fans to look at Dharma teachings. Plus, he is a very highly ranked Aikido Master; and Aikido, though a martial art, is also a spiritual path to peace. ‘Aiki-do’ is the ‘way of harmony’.

Tibetan Buddhist Masters do not think only in terms of this single lifetime, but are considering the long-term ramifications of all actions of body, speech, and mind. In this way, many future world-changers are amongst us in many guises.

As for the images of Pu-tai and Maitreya, the styles in which Deities are drawn for us are not meant to be literal portrayals of their features and personas, but are designed to inspire qualities within us on very subtle levels, qualities that we inherently possess but may not be allowing ourselves to access fully. The colours, the contours, the expressions, and the body-language, all express an ideal. And, yet, there have been many Great Beings walking this Earth, and many who are here today, who have spread and continue to spread inspiration by their presence. This in no way disqualifies the power of art to embody such a presence, and for centuries of time.

Tai Situ RinpocheSo what of Maitreya? It has also been said that the present High Tibetan Lama, H.E. 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche (who has a wonderfully infectious smile and giggle!), is an emanation of the future Maitreya Buddha. Interestingly, his reincarnation lineage as the Tai Situpa began in the 14th century; and before this, he was Marpa the Translator (1012-1097) who brought many Buddhist teachings to Tibet. As mentioned, Ch’i-t’zu (Pu-tai) died in 916. So these dates are congruent with successive incarnations. Establishing a connection with the presence of H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche will also assist us in finding the future Buddha in our time of darkness and confusion in our lives to come.

Here is a very special video of the Tai Situ Rinpoche in Tibet with the (then) very young 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, (head of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism). H.H the Karmapa is being shown a TV video of his last incarnation as the 16th Karmapa. Watch His little face as he recognises himself as a middle-aged man in his last lifetime! Perhaps a young Maitreya may one day view a preserved ancient film of the Tai Situ Rinpoche, and express the same feelings!

The 17th Karmapa was recognised as a young child by Tai Situ Rinpoche who had been led by an instruction/prediction letter left to him by the previous Karmapa, explaining where and when he would be born, and the names of his future parents. Their strong connection over centuries had ensured the reunion… I have personally experienced the joy of meeting several of my past Buddha-Dharma Teachers in this life: One from a past Tibetan life (at least), one from a past Nepalese life, and one from a past Chinese life. These Rinpoches and Tulku have been enormously instrumental for my absorption in the Dharma in this life. A greater blessing can be hard to imagine…

May you always be united with your Teachers and be Blessed by the Wisdom that inspires you.

I will leave you with a brief message from the Tai Situ Rinpoche, himself: with a glimps of Maitreya’s future message for the world, bringing Happiness!

What Do the Disasters of 2011 & Nuclear Testing Have in Common?

EarthJust saw 5 minutes of a ridiculous documentary on TV, about the ‘Disaster Year’ of 2011. It seemed amazing to these commentators that the entire ‘Ring of Fire’ region around the Pacific should be so unstable at present…

It’s one big round Earth, folks, and when there is a movement on one side, the other side has to adjust. It’s the flow of the Tao: ‘the bigger the back, the bigger the front’.

The tectonic plates of the Earth are in constant motion, the Himalayas (after India originally smashed into the mainland—now the Tibetan Plateau—while the Earth was still incubating) are currently rising at approximately one inch every 12 years—and 12 years is no time at all to the life-span of a mountain! It’s a delicate planet, really.

All things are in a state of Change.
All things are Impermanent.
Everything is Cause and Effect.

That’s the nature of this planet …

We suffered some damage a long, long time ago when an asteroid (or similar object ) smashed into what is now the Pacific Ocean. You can see the ripple effect in the mountain ranges all around the Pacific countries, and the buckling of the Earth’s surface in the mountain ranges from the Himalayas right across old Persia and all the way to the Swiss Alps. You can see the angle of trajectory from the asteroid’s impact.

The Moon is believed by some to be part Earth and part asteroid, made from the debris of that collision. There are consequently big cracks in the depths of the Pacific Ocean. There will always be movement. Even the volcanic islands of Hawaii are still emerging and growing! It’s just the nature of our Earth. We live with her moods as she lives with ours.

And our moods have not always been easy to live with!

… Or is it the nature of us?

… Don’t get me started on the nuclear testing that has occurred in the Pacific region since 1952, both underground and in the atmosphere—and since then in every corner of the Earth! Here, some interesting data for you from Green Peace 1996 archives that will shock you, or it should!!:

  • The USA tested nuclear devices between 1945-1993: 1030 tests (215 atmospheric, 815 underground), including 4 sites in the Pacific!;
  • The USSR 1949-1990: 715 tests (207 atmospheric, 508 underground)
  • The French Government tested between 1960-1996: 210 tests (50 atmospheric, 160 underground) mostly in the Pacific, causing at least one beautiful atol to be completely uninhabitable—EVER!
  • After their involvment in the USA’s Manhattan Project, the United Kingdom tested independently between 1952-1991: 45 tests (21 atmospheric, 24 underground), including 2 on mainland Australia, and 2 in the Pacific Islands, and see more details of the 3 tests near Monte Bello Island, off Western Australia;
  • China’s nuclear testing 1964-1996: 43 tests (23 atmospheric, 20 underground)—possibly more tests may have followed after the Green Peace archived report was published in 1996.
  • India began nuclear testing in 1974 and resumed in 1998: At time of the archive Green Peace report: 1 test (declared to be a Peaceful Nuclear Explosion by the Indian authorities in the Rajasthan Desert, Jaisalmer District); but now there have been 5 more devices detonated, to date.
  • Pakistan detonated 5 nuclear devices underground in 1998*.
  • North Korea, now the world’s 8th nuclear power, detonated 1 small nuclear device underground in 2006*.

Everything is cause and effect…

Of course, all these nuclear explosions could not possibly have anything to do with the Earth rumbling, with the climate changing, with …….

… And did someone say the coral reefs were dying?

Japan Tsunami & Hades Astrologically

The horrific events in Japan these past days, in Christchurch New Zealand, and in Australia’s vast flooding, have shocked us all into realising how delicate our existence may be, and how powerful are the planetary forces we live with each day.

Though, it must be said that these events do not happen randomly. The compexities of all the influences are difficult to comprehend as they operate on many levels. One way of gaining insight into the collective subconscious thought-forms that can produce such terrible shared disasters is to study the astrological configurations involved at the time. A look at Japan’s two astrology charts may allow us a deeper view of the horrendous earthquake and subsequent tsunami of March 11 2011 in eastern Japan.

Hades is a little known celestial Transneptunian ‘Point’, discovered by Alfred Witte in the 1920s. It has not to date been sighted by telescope or satellite (though, new bodies in the outer reaches of the solar system are presently being found in abundance), but was discovered by mathematical, astrological, and, it would seem, intuitive means. I have studied all eight of these invisible Transneptunian forces (four of which were also discovered by Witte’s student, Friedrich Siegrun) for twenty-four years in the birth charts of living clients, and can vouch for their powerful impact on our psyches.

In the birth charts of countries, I have often found a Hades influence at the time of earthquake activity, and other devastating shared events of terror, especially when there has been a loss of human life.

The position of Hades at this present time is at 28 degrees and forty-seven minutes of Gemini (not the star constellation, but the frequency in the Earth’s field). The transiting South Moon’s Node, which can affect the collective past-life memory and karma of a group of people, is sitting exactly at that degree. (Karma is not a ‘punishment’: it is our subconscious belief about reality, which then creates our life circumstances.) So, the South Node and Hades are presently aligned.

This pairing can regurgitate an old terror, which is relived in some form so as to release the emotional charge and bring some degree of awareness to the Past that is buried in the psyche. A shared belief needs to be extinguished or faced again to bring a healing. Hades is never easy and can operate with either excessive drama or subtle manipulation.

We can study two charts for Japan. One is the birth of Japan’s Meiji Constitution. In this chart, we find the parallax calculation for the Moon (the Past, the mind-stream memory of the people, collectively) at 28 degrees and 19 minutes of Gemini. Right next to the Moon is another Transneptunian Point, Cupido, at 29 degrees and 6 minutes of Gemini, which in this case relates to the task of bringing a sense of peace and harmony and compassion to the Past (the Moon).

We can see that both the transiting South Moon’s Node and Hades are triggering the 28 to 29 degree area of Gemini right now! This is a triple past-life signature! The Japanese people have lived with earthquakes on their islands since the earliest times. And this is not the first (though is one of the most devastating) tsunami they have ever experienced. People who live in geo-volatile countries such as Japan would have a connection to such events from their deeper pasts. Also, these events have the potential to stir great compassion in the people to help each other.

Also at 29 degrees and 18 minutes of Taurus in the Meiji chart is the asteroid Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom-in-acton. She was the Protectress of Athens. Next to her is Neptune, god of the seas, at 29 degrees and 31 minutes of Taurus. She has been overcome by the Hades transit, and Hades has triggered the Neptune, the tsunami, even though by only a 30-degree angle, Hades is still very active in the collective psyche.

Neptune can be used most wisely here to bring a strong spiritual connection between us all to send positivity and hope to the survivors of the devastation. The Japanese people have strong spiritual roots that must be preserved in their culture to maintain their fortitude against the wildness of the Earth beneath them. Indeed, we all need to cultivate such a foundation to hold us steady when the Earth sways and floods and burns.

The second chart for Japan can be drawn for the Western influences on their culture and economy. This is the chart of Japan’s Post-War Constitution. In this chart, the Vertex crisis point is at 29 degrees and 10 minutes of Leo. This means that the transiting Hades-South Node conjunction is making a 60 degree angle (a sextile) to the Vertex. Hades is certainly bringing up some old terrors here. While the transiting North Moon’s Node (always opposite the South Node) is trining (120 degrees) the Anti-Vertex, the aspiration for this life that overcomes the crisis. This is a double indicator of new plans and new directions for the Japanese culture and economy through a devastating Hades experience.

It certainly seems like the inhabitants of Japan, and current tourists, may be reliving past terrors. These transits don’t have to produce these effects, but with Hades also on the transiting South Node, many people all over the world are experiencing shared past conditions of horror.

Hades is a stubborn thought-form, and cannot be overcome without time and great effort. But it is possible.

If these events occur with astrological timing involving the mysterious Hades, then we can be sure that they are no accident or fluke of nature. There is a huge mental clearing and a healing that will eventually take place. Though right now, it seems so far away. I cannot imagine how Sendai alone can be rebuilt. But it will be. And the dangers from the nuclear plants are trouble enough!

The Japanese have lived with disasters for centuries, and they are resilient and incredibly inventive. Our prayers are with all who are in Japan at this time, and we can only hold to the belief that something remarkably good and new and healing will come out of all this horrible tragedy.
